Applying for a School Place at St. Paul’s

If you pay your council tax to Stoke-on-Trent City Council, you can apply for a place at St. Pauls using the Stoke on Trent Citizen Portal.

  • You’re new to the UK

  • You’d like your child to transfer for other reasons

You can apply online to request a transfer.

You’ll get an email confirmation once your application is received.

Our Admissions Arrangements

How does the Admissions Process work?

1. Picking a School

When it’s time for your children to start primary school, you can choose which schools you want to apply for. You can pick a few schools, not just one, in case your first choice is full.

2. Applying

Fill out an online form to ask for a place. There’s usually a deadline for entry, so be sure to apply on time. If you need help filling in your form, please let us know and we can help you through this.

3. Deciding who gets In

Schools have rules to decide who gets a place. These rules might include things such as how close you live to the school or if your child has brothers or sisters who are already at the school.

4. Offers are sent

On a set day, the council tells you which school your child has a place at. If your child doesn’t get their first choice, they still get a place at another school they applied to.

5. Waiting lists & appeals

If a school is full, you can put your child on a waiting list. You can also appeal if you really want your child to go to a certain school.

6. Special circumstances

Sometimes children might start earlier or later than normal for different reasons (like being very advanced or having birthdays at certain times of the year). Parents can ask for this, but the school decides what’s best.
